Mrs. Bañuelos
Mrs. Bañuelos has been with the Whittier City School District for 13 years. She began her teaching career in 3rd grade and over the years has taught Kindergarten, First, Fifth, a 3/4 and 4/5 combination class. Mrs. Bañuelos holds a BA in Sociology from Cal Poly Pomona with a Minor in Criminal Justice and a Social Work Option. She also has a Masters in Education from Whittier College. In her spare time, Mrs. Bañuelos enjoys shopping, doing paper crafts, and hanging out with her family. She is happily married and the mother of a beautiful baby girl and a son that will soon be joining her family! Mrs. Bañuelos is excited to join the Kindergarten team this year!
Mrs. Franco
Hello! My name is Mrs. Virginia Franco and this is my third year teaching Kindergarten at MSTA. I have been teaching for 26 years now and have taught every grade level K-5. This will be my 13th year teaching for Whittier City School District. I previously taught for LAUSD. Kindergarten has always been my passion and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to teach kindergarten here at MSTA. My main goals are for students to feel successful and to LOVE learning. I am a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Go Bruins!!! I received my bilingual teaching credential from National University. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband of 20 years and three children Vanessa, Cristian, and Alex. I also have two little dogs, Lucy and Penny. I love to read, go to the movies, and go out to dinner with family and friends.
